Job Duties:

• Conduct independent research and complete a doctoral thesis
• Teach university-level classes in German and English
• Participate in the institute's administrative and scientific tasks

Your Qualifications:

• The candidate must have a completed relevant Diploma/Master's degree, e.g. in Philosophy
• Possess a strong interest and some experience in rigorously pursuing philosophical research into the interrelations between science (including the social sciences) and society
• Good knowledge of philosophy of science and at least one social science such as economics or political science
• Strong command of English (level B2+)
• Strong command of German sufficient for teaching in German language study programs (Level B2+)
• Strong team player
• Possess understanding of structures and procedures in university governance
• Ideally, the successful candidate should have interest or reasearch experience in historically informed philosophy of monetary theory and monetary policy, including work on problems raised by Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) and cryptocurrencies. However, this is no mandatory requirement
