Job Duties:

• Conduct scientific research in the field of visual data science (visualization & visual analytics)
• Contribute to collaborative research projects
• Publish scientific findings in renowned international journals and at conferences
• Short-term research stays at international collaboration partners (Harvard University, ETH Zürich, etc.)
• Teach university-level classes at the undergraduate and graduate level
• Provide support to manage the institute's general administration activities

Your Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must hold a Diploma/Master's degree in a relevant discipline (computer science, mathematics, bioinformatics, statistics, or similar) or has equivalent qualifications
• The successful candidate is expected to possess expertise in one or more of the following fields: Data Visualization and Visual Analytics, Data Mining, Statistics, Machine Learning, Explainable AI, Human-Computer-Interaction
• Programming skills in web technologies (e.g., Java Script, TypeScript, D3.js) as well as Scripting Languages (Python and R) are of advantage
• Strong motivation and commitment to research and teaching
• The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong command of English (level C1), German skills are a plus
