Job Description:
Main duties:
- Independent research in the field of British/anglophone (not US-American) literary studies
- Implementation of a postdoc research project in this field
- Publication and conference activities
- Application for third-party funding
- Independent teaching of courses in different periods and genres in all curricula (BA English and American Studies, MA English and American studies, BA and MA teacher training)
- Supervision of BA theses
- Administrative support
- Participation in research projects at the department and in the University’s research centres
Necessary qualifications:
- Completed doctorate (PhD) in British/Anglophone literary studies (with above-average result)
- Evident research competence in the field of British/Anglophone literary studies
- Excellent didactic abilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team; high capacity for independent work and demonstrable organisational skills
- Good German language skills (at least B2) and excellent English language skills (C2)
Desirable:
- Experience with teaching in higher education
- Ideally research interests in postcolonial studies, studies of migration or early modern studies
