University Assistant (postdoc)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Independent research activities in the field of stem cell research with a focus on human neural models
• Independent research on modelling diseases and ageing using iPSC-based models in 2D and 3D
• Collaboration in ongoing projects in the Department of Genomics at the Institute of Molecular Biology
• Independent delivery of high-quality, research-led teaching in the fields of genomics, stem cell biology, neurobiology and other areas of biology; participation in teaching in Bachelor's and Master's programmes
• Supervision of Bachelor's and Master's students, guidance of technical staff
• Completion of administrative and organisational tasks in research and teaching

Your profile:

• Completed relevant doctoral or PhD degree programme
• In-depth knowledge and independent research experience in the field of human pluripotent and neural stem cells and their differentiation into 3D models
• Intensive experience with cell and molecular biological analyses of neural cell ageing, ideally also on organoid models
• Experience in RNA sequencing and basic bioinformatics skills are an advantage
• Relevant publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals
• Experience in supervising BSc and MSc candidates desirable
• Team and communication skills; social skills
• German language skills (at least B2 level or willingness to acquire these within a reasonable time)
