University Assistant (postdoc)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

  • Conduct research as part of the project "Provincializing Coloniality: A Global History of Twentieth Century Tyrol"
  • Carrying out research in relevant archives (mostly in Tyrol, partly also in other regions of Austria and abroad) and conducting interviews
  • Active participation in project activities on site (e.g. Reading meetings, regular meetings, jointly organised events and publication activities)
  • Active participation in international workshops and conferences
  • Writing scientific articles and other publications
  • Administrative support for the project (co-organisation of workshops and public events, maintenance of the website, supervision of guest speakers, etc.)

Your profile:

  • Doctorate in history or related disciplines
  • Extensive experience in historical research and in relevant fields of research (global history, regional history, contemporary history, postcolonial and decolonial approaches)
  • Strong publication track record
  • Very good knowledge of German and English; knowledge of other foreign languages an advantage
  • Very good communication skills to represent the project in academic and non-academic contexts
  • Strong organisational skills
