Job Description:
Your tasks:
- Dissertation in history with a focus on the years 1945-1990 as part of the project "Provincializing Coloniality: A Global History of Twentieth Century Tyrol"
- Conducting research in relevant archives (mostly in Tyrol, partly also in other regions of Austria and abroad)
- Planning and conducting interviews
- Active participation in project activities on site (e.g. Reading meetings, regular meetings, jointly organised events and publication activities)
- Active participation in international workshops and conferences
- Writing scientific articles and other publications
- Administrative support for the project (co-organisation of workshops and public events, maintenance of the website, supervision of guest speakers, etc.)
Your profile:
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in history or related disciplines
- Familiarity with historical methods and conducting interviews as well as a proven interest in relevant fields of research (global history, regional history, contemporary history, history of decolonisation and social movements, postcolonial studies)
- Very good knowledge of German and English; knowledge of Italian advantageous
- Very good communication and organisational skills
- The application must include: a detailed letter of motivation with direct reference to the project, CV (no photo required) including a list of publications, meaningful reading sample (Master's thesis, journal article, book chapter, etc.), proof of the required qualifications.
