Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Dissertation in the field of geodesy - forest surveying
• Independent research in the field of innovative forest monitoring with deep learning
• Independent teaching
• Scientific publications
• Training and further education
• Administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completed relevant master's, master's or diploma programme in geodesy, forestry, environmental engineering, geoinformation or similar
• Programming skills in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C++/C, MatLAB)
• Language skills (at least B2) in German and English
• Driving licence B
• Knowledge of geodetic and GIS software
• Knowledge of photogrammetry and point cloud processing
• Experience in planning and carrying out surveys with total station, GNSS, levelling device and laser scanner is an advantage
• Experience in forest inventory/forest surveying and drone surveying in alpine areas is an advantage
• Interest in deep learning and machine learning methods for the creation and processing of topographic 3D data
