University Assistant (PhD position)
Job Description:
Your tasks:
- Writing a dissertation with a focus on the years 1900-1945 as part of the project "Provincializing Coloniality: A Global History of Twentieth Century Tyrol"
- Carrying out research in relevant archives (mostly in Tyrol, partly also in other regions of Austria and abroad) and conducting interviews
- Active participation in project activities on site (e.g. Reading meetings, regular meetings)
- Active participation in international workshops and conferences
- Writing scientific articles and participating in the publication of joint publications
- Administrative support for the project (co-organisation of workshops and public events, maintenance of the website, supervision of guest speakers, etc.)
Your profile:
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in history or related disciplines
- Experience in historical research (especially archival work) and proven interest in relevant fields of research (global history, regional history, contemporary history, history of colonialism and imperialism, postcolonial studies)
- Very good knowledge of German and English
- Very good communication and organisational skills
