University Assistant (postdoc)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Independent research activities in the field of molecular fungal research with a focus on interactions and secondary metabolism,
• Independent application for and realisation of research projects and participation in research projects of the working group
• Independent writing of scientific publications and presentations
• Independent teaching of courses in the Faculty of Biology, including co-supervision of theses
• Participation in organisational and administrative tasks of the working group and the institute
• Continuing education

Your profile:

• Completed doctorate in the field of microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, molecular biotechnology or a related field
• Proven publication experience in relevant international journals
• Experience in the fields of microbial interactions, fungal secondary metabolism (preferably mycoparasitic fungi) and bioinformatic methods is an advantage
• Experience in teaching and (co-)supervision of theses is desirable
• Excellent knowledge of English and German (if not native speaker) which allows the organisation of German-language courses
• High motivation, ability to work under pressure, organisational talent and problem-solving skills
• Independent, cooperative and team-oriented working style

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for this position amounts to € 4.933 per month (14 times)^*.
