University Assistant (PhD position)

Start date/duration:

  • from 01.09.2025
  • for 4 years

Administrative unit:

  • Department of Civil Legal Procedure

Extent of employment:

  • 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed

Job Description:

Your tasks:

  • Independent research and drafting of a civil procedural law thesis
  • Participation in courses and own teaching
  • Participation in research projects and independent research
  • Participation in academic conferences and training events
  • Supervision of students; organisational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Excellent degree from a diploma or master's programme in law
  • Very good knowledge of civil procedure law and related subjects (in particular civil law, corporate law and labour law)
  • excellent written and spoken German and English skills
  • good knowledge of at least one foreign language (preferably French or Spanish)
  • International and/or practical experience desirable
  • Experience in academic work (possibly first publications and lectures) desired
  • Systematic thinking and precise working methods
  • High level of commitment and motivation
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Reliability and flexibility
