Senior Project Accountant

What matters to us

• 2 Year PQE accountant with a recognised professional body (eg ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA)
• Experience in a project based finance team within the construction, infrastructure or similar industry
• Strong communication skills

Your contribution to our company

• Senior Project Accountant is responsible for maintaining and ensuring integrity of ledgers and control environment for the project, whilst building close working relationships with the commercial and delivery teams.
• Production of monthly and ad-hoc reporting requirements including rolling forecasts, cash-flows, balance sheet reconciliations other reporting requirements.
• Understand the commercial contracts in use in order to challenge the commercial position ensuring reporting represents a fair and accurate reflection on contract performance
• Work closely with the Senior Management to improve project reporting and reduce commercial risk.
• Ensure accurate and timely billing of costs to the client including subsequent management and collection of aged debts.
• Ensure cash forecasts are robustly prepared and accurately reported.
• Work with commercial teams to minimise the WIP position and achieve cash collection targets
• Provide governance around the project delegated authority process to ensure compliance at all times and provision of controls to eliminate non-conforming authorisations, purchases and retrospective purchase orders.
• Oversee production of staff utilisation forecasts to reduce non-productivity and provide an accurate forecast of staff recoverability
• Expenses management covering processing and compliance to company policies
