University Assistant (PhD position)

• 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Microbiology with a focus on molecular fungal research
• Independent realisation of scientific research work within the framework of the dissertation in the field of molecular fungal research, in particular interactions of mycoparasitic fungi
• Own teaching and participation in teaching
• Supervision and co-supervision of students
• Application for research projects, preparation of scientific publications, presentation of research results at conferences and meetings
• Participation in organisational and administrative tasks

Your profile

• Completed relevant Master's, Magister or Diplom degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related subject area
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with microbiological and molecular biological methods; knowledge and experience in molecular fungal research is an advantage
• High degree of independence and willingness to undertake research stays with cooperation partners in Germany and abroad
• High motivation, creative problem-solving skills and flexibility
• Team and communication skills; competence in dealing with students
• Very good knowledge of English; knowledge of German (if not native speaker)

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)*. The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
