Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Conducting a literature study on gender representations and gender cultures in STEM subjects (e.g. Chemistry, pharmacy, computer science, mathematics and physics, identifying causes, measures and best practice models to reduce gender inequalities and increase the proportion of women at all levels of academic careers)
• Conducting qualitative research to analyse gendered barriers, norms and scientific cultures in STEM subjects (chemistry, pharmacy, computer science, mathematics and physics) at the University of Innsbruck
• Research-led design and monitoring of measures to promote women and reduce gender-specific inequalities in work structures and careers in STEM subjects (chemistry, pharmacy, computer science, mathematics and physics) at the University of Innsbruck
• Evaluation of implemented measures
• Independent organisation of courses and holding of examinations
• Supervision of students incl. Supervision of bachelor theses
• Collaboration in organisational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completed relevant PhD or doctoral programme with a focus on gender studies or science studies
• Very good knowledge of qualitative research
• Good knowledge of science (cultures), careers and gender relations, especially in relation to the subjects / one of the subjects of chemistry, pharmacy, computer science, mathematics and physics (desirable)
• Very good written and spoken English skills (working languages: German and English)
• Experience in interdisciplinary, university-internal networking
• Communication skills, independence, ability to work in a team
• Expertise in the implementation of workshops and scientific (networking) events
