University Assistant (PhD position)

• 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Dissertation in the field of residential construction in the area of tension between typology, sustainable building systems, urban development, ecology and cultural theory
• research
• Participation in teaching
• Independent teaching (after assignment)
• Administrative tasks
• Further education and training

Your profile

• Completed relevant master's, master's or diploma degree programme
• Creativity, innovative and analytical thinking as well as a strong understanding of the interaction between residential architecture, typology, sustainable building systems, urban planning, ecology and cultural theory
• Knowledge of and experience with conventional and experimental housing typologies as well as alternative and innovative models of urban densification
• Knowledge of and experience with sustainable building systems made from renewable materials and circular construction methods using digital production technologies, with a focus on timber construction.
• Knowledge and experience in discourse-based, interdisciplinary knowledge transfer of architecture.
• Organisational experience and skills in academic operations as well as practical professional experience in the field of residential construction.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills are an absolute prerequisite.
• High motivation to work both in a team and independently in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
• Precision and efficiency in work as well as strong communication skills.
• Good academic writing and communication skills or interest in gaining qualifications in these areas.
• Enjoy collaborating with students and interdisciplinary work.
