University Assistant (PhD position)

Start date/duration:

  • as soon as possible
  • for 4 years

Administrative unit:

  • Department of Management and Marketing

Extent of employment:

  • 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed

Job Description:

Your tasks:

  • Dissertation in the field of branding
  • Independent research in the field of brand management and consumer culture
  • Independent teaching
  • Co-supervision of students, participation in teaching
  • Training and further education
  • Administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Completed relevant Master's, Magister or Diplom degree in social sciences and economics
  • Sound knowledge of marketing and brand management
  • Experience in the field of qualitative-interpretative research and interest in consumer culture research and consumer behaviour desirable
  • Excellent command of English
  • Please enclose written reflections on your dissertation project with your application (max. 5 pages)
  • Ability to work in a team with institute staff

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)*. The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
