University Assistant (PhD position)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• PhD thesis in the field of mathematics education
• Reseach and participation in research projects in the Unit of Mathematics and Science Education at the Department of Subject-Specific Education
• Teaching at the Unit of Mathematics and Science Education at the Department of Subject-Specific Education 
• Supervision of students and scientific publications at the Unit of Mathematics and Science Education at the Department of Subject-Specific Education
• Training and further education
• Administrative tasks (participation in the organization and administration of the Unit of Mathematics and Science Education at the Department of Subject-Specific Education as well as in the academic self-administration of the Institute and the Faculty)

Your profile:

• Completed teaching degree (diploma or master's degree) in mathematics (or equivalent)
• Very good knowledge of German, if German is not the native language: C1
• Desired: the candidate should have very good communication skills in both spoken and written English (C1)
• Desired: diploma or master thesis in mathematics education
• Desired: school teaching and/or university teaching experience
• The application must be accompanied by a dissertation exposé of 3-4 pages
• Ability to cooperate
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a team
• Teaching skills

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)*. The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
