University Assistant (PhD position)

Extent of employment:
- 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed
Job Description:
Your tasks:
- PhD Thesis in the field of Innovative building materials, building methods and constructions
- Writing a PhD Thesis (ideally a cumulative dissertation) in the field of experimental characterisation, modelling and/or numerical simulation of the physical properties of innovative/ bio-based materials and building materials
- Writing scientific publications as part of the dissertation
- Organising courses
- Co-/supervision of student research projects
- Participation in courses and research projects of the department
- Participation in conferences and congresses, advanced training courses
- Administrative work at the department
Your profile
- Relevant degree / MSc in civil engineering, mechatronics, materials science, technical physics, technical chemistry, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering or raw materials engineering
- Knowledge in the field of experimental characterisation, modelling and/or numerical simulation of materials and building materials desired
- Good knowledge of German and English
- Ability to work in a team
- Leadership skills in dealing with study assistants and in the supervision of BSc theses

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)*. The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
