University Assistant (PhD position)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Dissertation in the field of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition
• Independent research in the field of machine learning, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition
• Independent teaching
• Student supervision and scientific publications Publications
• Organisational and administrative tasks
• Training and further education

Your profile:

• Completed diploma or master's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics or related fields
• Very good knowledge of probabilistic machine learning or numerical simulation of dynamic systems, e.g. As acquired in previous research-related projects (Master's thesis or other research work)
• Very good knowledge of probabilistic unsupervised learning, preferably in the context of current research in this area
• Very good programming skills, e.g. In C++, Python and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and knowledge of parallelised execution on modern hardware
• Good knowledge of German is an advantage (undergraduate courses)
• Very good knowledge of English
• Please enclose written reflections on your dissertation project with your application (max. 5 pages)
• Ability to work in a team
• Leadership and communication skills in student supervision
