University Assistant (PhD position)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Dissertation in the field of machine learning, artificial and biological intelligence, computational neuroscience
• Own research in the fields of machine learning, artificial and biological intelligence, computational neuroscience
• Independent teaching
• Student supervision and scientific publications Publications
• Organisational and administrative tasks
• Training and further education

Your profile:

• Completed diploma or master's degree in physics, neuroscience, computational neuroscience, mathematics or related fields
• Very good knowledge of probabilistic machine learning and unsupervised learning, e.g. As acquired in previous research-related projects (Master's thesis or other research work)
• Relevant experience in modelling biological learning with probabilistic machine learning approaches
• Good programming skills, e.g. Python and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch
• Experience in producing scientific publications, e.g. As evidenced by paper / abstract submissions
• Good knowledge of German is an advantage (undergraduate courses)
• Very good knowledge of English

• Ability to work in a team
• Leadership and communication skills in student supervision
