University Assistant (PhD position)

Start date/duration:

  • from 15.09.2025
  • for 4 years

Administrative unit:

  • Department of Civil Law

Extent of employment:

  • 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed

Job Description:

Your tasks:

  • General civil law (excluding family and inheritance law); housing and property law
  • Own teaching
  • Collaboration on academic projects
  • Training and further education
  • Administrative tasks
  • Own research

Your profile:

  • Degree in law or a master's degree in business law
  • Very good knowledge of civil law (good academic record desirable)
  • Interest in academic work (ideally demonstrated by an outstanding thesis and/or first publications)
  • sound computer skills
  • Very good knowledge of English
  • ability to work in a team
  • Please enclose written reflections on your dissertation project with your application (max. 5 pages)

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)*. The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
