Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Dissertation in the field of theoretical astroparticle physics/high-energy astrophysics
• Independent research in the field of theoretical astroparticle physics/high-energy astrophysics: Preparation of a dissertation.
• Detailed investigation with model development and modelling of sources and phenomena in the field of multi-messenger astroparticle physics/high-energy astrophysics. Improvement and further development of simulation and modelling algorithms.
• Utilisation and interpretation of observational data.
• Publication and presentation of own research results in international scientific media and conferences.
• Participation in collaborative scientific projects and joint scientific publications.
• Teaching of courses according to teaching load.
• Training and further education.
• Administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completed relevant master's or diploma degree in physics with a specialisation in astro/astroparticle physics;
• Willingness to familiarise yourself with the research field of theoretical astroparticle physics/high-energy astrophysics;
• Previous knowledge of methods for modelling astrophysical sources of high-energy astrophysics; programming experience and confident handling of Linux-based computer systems
• Excellent knowledge of English

• Ability to work in a team with project groups on an international level, problem-solving skills; good self-management; good presentation skills

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)*. The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
