Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Support of the library management system Alma (Exlibris) and the discovery systems with the associated functionalities
• Development and maintenance of scripts to automate processes and customise existing IT solutions
• Participation in the planning and implementation of IT projects to introduce new digital services and improve the existing IT structure
• Creating technical documentation and reports on system performance and the implementation of IT projects
• First/second level support for IT-related enquiries and providing targeted training for ULB employees

Your profile:

• You have an IT-specific education and a completed diploma or master's degree or an equivalent qualification
• You have experience in system administration or preferably knowledge of the administration of the library management system Alma and associated applications (discovery systems, etc.)
• You have sound knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python, Java), databases (e.g. SQL) and web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, REST API) as well as exchange formats (e.g. JSON, XML, XSLT)
• You have strong analytical skills that enable you to optimise complex systems
• You are willing to participate in our training and further education programmes as well as business trips
• You have excellent written and spoken German (level C1) and are proficient in technical English (level B2)
• You are characterised by a high level of teamwork, resilience and commitment
• You have excellent communication skills and flexibility

For this position in job group IVa, a minimum gross salary of € 3.390 per month (14 times)^* is stipulated in the collective agreement. Your actual starting salary will depend on your previous experience and will increase over the course of your employment.
