University Assistant (PhD position)

Start date/duration:

• for 4 years

Administrative unit:

• Timber Engineering Section

Extent of employment:

• 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed

Job Description:

Your tasks:

• Doctoral thesis in timber engineering: structural timber construction with a focus on fastener technology
• Independent research as well as collaboration in subject-related publications, participation in the assessment of students, supervision of bachelor theses
• Independent teaching
• Training and further education
• Administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completed master's or diploma degree in the field of civil engineering and relevant practical experience
• Please enclose written reflections on your dissertation project with your application (max. 5 pages)
• Strong teamwork skills and constructive cooperation
• High level of written and spoken communication skills (German and English)
• Independent, structured and responsible way of working
• Motivating and appreciative supervision of students
• Maintaining contacts with industry representatives
