University Assistant (PhD position)

- 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed
Job Description:
Main tasks
- Complete a PhD-Dissertation in the research area of “Disability Studies and Inclusive Education”
- Conduct independent research connected to the dissertation topic, ideally related to topics already being researched in Innsbruck: to human rights, disability rights movement, institutions and social services, democracy, participation, subjectivation
- Independent teaching in the Bachelor degree program in Educational Science and supervision of students
- Participation in training courses in university didactics, research methodology and academic publishing
- Occasional collaboration on grant proposals, conferences and publications in the research area “Disability Studies and Inclusive Education”
- Contribution to the organizational and administrative tasks of the department
Required qualification
- Very good Master, Magister or Diplom degree in Educational Science or related subject, ideally with a critical focus on ableism
- Special interest in interdisciplinary, international disability studies and human rights inclusion research
- Good knowledge of German (B2/C1 level), good knowledge of English (B2/C1 level) and IT skills
- Commitment, curiosity, sense of responsibility, independence and ability to work in a team
- Please enclose with your application a completed text (e.g. Master paper) and written reflections on your possible dissertation project or your dissertation already in progress (max. 5 pages)

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)*. The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
