University Assistant (PhD position) (substitute employee)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

  • Independent research in the field of Theoretical Chemistry
  • Independent teaching
  • Participation in teaching and research
  • Training and further education
  • Administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Please enclose a written outline of your dissertation project with your application (max. 5 pages)
  • Completed master's, master's or diploma degree in a relevant subject
  • Sound knowledge of theoretical chemistry and physical chemistry
  • Ability to conduct independent research work
  • Interest in the application of physical and mathematical methods to chemical problems
  • Experience in quantum mechanical modelling of chemical systems (wave function theory, density functional theory, group theory)
  • Experience in experimental and theoretical spectroscopy
  • Knowledge of linear algebra
  • Knowledge of English
  • High level of commitment and motivation for scientific work
  • Expertise in working in interdisciplinary teams
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Didactic experience
  • High level of written and oral communication skills

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)*. The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
