University Assistant (PhD position)
Job Description:
Your tasks:
- University Assistant - Dissertation position (20 hours/week - upon submission of the dissertation agreement, the employment level will be increased to 30 hours/week), Institute of Zoology from 01 June 2025 for 4 years. Main tasks: Dissertation in the field of developmental biology, mechanobiology and quantitative imaging; Independent research towards a PhD in developmental biology, mechanobiology and quantitative imaging with a focus on mechano-signalling pathways in tissue development and plasticity; Application of interdisciplinary research methods, including molecular biology, live cell imaging and biophysical techniques; Working on zebrafish and performing transgenesis experiments; In vivo and in vitro assays for single cell analyses and embryos. Independent teaching and co-supervision of Bachelor and Master students; writing of scientific publications and communication of research results at conferences, seminars and meetings as well as participation in relevant training courses; participation in ongoing research projects as well as administrative support in project reporting, organisation and implementation.
Your profile:
- Completed subject-related Master's, Magister or Diplom degree programme
- Practical experience in molecular biology, imaging techniques and quantitative data analysis
- Strong academic performance and motivation for scientific research
- High proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Strong communication skills, creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. Team player with a collaborative attitude
