University Assistant (postdoc)
Job Description:
Your tasks:
- Independent research activities in the field of trace gas analysis
- Teaching
- Administration
Your profile:
- Master and PhD degree in Chemistry or Physics. At least 3 years of experience as a postdoc. Extensive experience with spectrometric techniques in trace gas analysis. Experience in the use of GC-MS, GC-IMS and PTR-ToF-MS, ideally with a focus on the analysis of volatile compounds in breath. Experience with spectrometric analysis in the sampling of end-tidal breath and/or volatile compounds. Knowledge in lung computational models for breath research. Proven ability to publish high quality articles in peer-reviewed journals as corresponding author. Experience in writing successful grant and/or funding proposals. Demonstrated skills in statistical analysis, including PCA analysis, multivariate statistics and mathematical and computational modelling.
- Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English (written and spoken). A good command of German is an advantage but not essential. The applicant should be able to work independently, but also be able to support and lead the work of small research teams.
