As an Application Engineer for Powertrain Test Systems, you will work within interdisciplinary engineering teams to implement new test benches for hybrid and electric vehicle powertrains according to given specifications. Your solutions will be individually tailored to the requirements of the respective test bench. You are specialized in the project-oriented application of AVL automation software, simulation and control, digital signal processing as well as interfaces. You will take on tasks such as configuring test benches and test cases, integrating external devices and DUTs, defining acceptance criteria and preparing solutions on the simulator, including documentation. You will hand over your work to the commissioning team, also providing support in case of queries. In special cases, you will carry out the implementation on site at customers worldwide.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning of customer-specific powertrain test benches with a technical focus on the test bench use case (automation, simulation and control as well as digital signal processing)
• Analysis of project-related customer requirements (e.g. device and test item interfaces, use cases and test tasks, system configurations and function extensions), partly on site in direct dialog with our customers worldwide
• Specification of customer-specific hardware and software components
• Definition of acceptance criteria for test bench systems and use cases as well as their verification 
• Implementation of customized solutions on the AVL automation platform AVL PUMA 2™ (e.g. development and integration of device drivers, simulation models, test runs and other additional functions)
• Preparation and provision of system configurations for commissioning
• Independent integration of applications on the test bench as well as training of customers

YOUR PROFILE:

• Completed studies (University of Applied Sciences / University of Technology) in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automotive engineering or comparable course of study
• Alternatively, you have completed an electrotechnical / mechatronic professional training with several years of relevant professional experience (e.g. Secondary Technical College or technician in plant electronics, automation technology, or similar)
• Min. 5 years of professional experience in test bench commissioning or software application, test bench support or test item commissioning
• Strong knowledge in control and regulation technology, measurement technology and digital signal processing as well as basic programming experience (e.g. VB, C/C++, MATLAB / Simulink or Python)
• Experience with tools for analyzing ECUs and residual bus simulation (e.g. Vector™, CANoe™ and corresponding real-time hardware) is an advantage
• Strong technical understanding, fast adaptability to project-specific situations 
• Independent, structured and thorough way of working with a high degree of team spirit
• Business fluent German and good English skills
• Willingness for international business trips in moderate extent (e.g. customer visits of a few days)

Annual Remuneration: Due to the Austrian Equal Treatment Act we are obligated to state the annual gross remuneration (full-time) for this position as a basis for negotiation: €49.000,00. The Employee will be classified according to the Collective Agreement for Employees of Industry (Collective Bargaining Agreement of the Automotive Industry). We will, in any case, offer market-conforming payment taking qualifications and professional experience into account.
