Job Description

We are looking for a curious and driven individual who is eager to gather a unique experience and wants to pursue a career path in venture capital. The internship is focused on the CEE region. The role can evolve into a permanent position.

You will become an integral part of our investment team: your primary role will be to support the investment team in finding and evaluating startups for investment by 3VC as well as to structure investment processes and support portfolio companies. We interact with a large number of businesses, and it’s important to quickly and thoroughly prioritize, filter, and assess. Outbound lead generation is key, as well thematic research and building relationships with the most ambitious founders across Europe – often and ideally before they start actively looking for funding.

3VC is based in Vienna, the most livable city in the world. As we live a fully digital process, remote work is in our culture. However, we expect you to join us in Vienna throughout the internship so you can learn from and interact with our team. During the current lockdown, we take the necessary safety measures and operate in a hybrid setup (mix of remote / office).

Job Responsibilities

• Be an integral part of our investment team:
  • Screen our deal-flow, source and manage potential investment opportunities across Europe (with a focus on GSA, Baltics, and CEE)
  • Research potential investments, which will likely require testing products and service
  • Support due diligence through the investment process, including market assessment, reference calls, analysis of unit economics, financial planning and modeling, etc.
• Find the next big thing in tech: research technology trends, conduct industry analyses and uncover ideas with the potential to disrupt entire industries, build strong relationships with founders of high growth companies
• Be an entrepreneurial partner for our founders: support our companies as they grow their business. This could include analyzing competitors and market opportunities.

Job Requirements

• Outstanding degree (in progress) from a top university.
• First work experience in dynamic work environments, such as startups.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and in one of the languages spoken in CEE, knowledge of German is a plus if you want to get the maximum out of our Vienna location.
• Solid structuring and analytical abilities as well as good interpersonal skills.
• A passion for the software and technology ecosystem
• We expect curiosity: someone who naturally spends their spare hours learning and looking at new and innovative things that can impact the way we live and work.
• You are a driven self-starter: your work and time are open-ended by nature, and you must be able to identify and execute on opportunities to contribute to the team with lean management/direction.
• It’s important you work well in a team of equals.
