University Assistant (Predoctoral) for a one-year project entitled "NMR Investigation of Electrostatics at the Protein Surface." In this project we will apply NMR spectroscopy to determine the strength of electrostatics on the protein surface.

Job Duties:

• Recombinant protein expression
• Site-directed mutagenesis
• Application of 2D NMR spectroscopy to follow pH titration experiments
• Production of protein samples labelled with stable isotopes (13C, 15N)
• Present progress at group meetings
• Participate in the co-supervision of BSc students
• Providing support to students and external partners in the departmental laboratory

Your Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must hold a Diploma/Master's degree (or proof that one is awarded) in Biochemistry or relevant field for the research project (protein science)
• Prior experience working with molecular biology, proteins, and molecular spectroscopy is a must
• Training in the fundamentals of protein science
• Training in NMR spectroscopy
• rior experience in the production of proteins is required
• Experience with data analysis and bioinformatics is beneficial
• Demonstrated prior research experience and the ability to conduct independent research
• Demonstrated good work attitude (perseverence, objectivity, patience, integrity, ethics)
• Possess good interpersonal and communicative skills
• Strong command of spoken and written English (level B2 or equivalent qualification), German language skills are not required
