Job Description:

Your tasks:

• High energy astrophysics / astroparticle physics
• Independent research in preparation for a dissertation
• Detailed investigation of various sources and phenomena of high-energy radiation.
• Analysis and interpretation of observational data.
• Improvement and further development of analysis and/or simulation algorithms.
• Publication of research results in internationally recognised media.
• Teaching of courses in accordance with the teaching load.
• Participation in collaborative scientific projects and joint scientific publications.
• Training and further education; administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completed relevant master's or diploma degree in physics, preferably in the field of astrophysics/astroparticle physics.
• Good knowledge of German and English.
• Experience with analysis/simulation environments or modelling in high energy astro/astroparticle physics.
• Interest in research work in scientific collaborations. Confident handling and programming experience with Linux-based computer systems.
• Please enclose written reflections on your dissertation project with your application (max. 5 pages)
• Ability to work in a team with project groups on an international level, problem-solving skills
