We offer a thesis with the topic of

The security testing of modern connected cars becomes an essential part in the vehicle development process. The main purpose of penetration tests is trying to break the implemented (security) functions in the same way as a real attacker would do it. Therefor a set of tools is needed to perform attacks on different layers and systems.

TASK:

• Identify potential attack points 
• Define a set of needed tools for the different identified attack points 
• Analyze available security tools for the attacking vehicles with focus on Open-Source tools (e.g. KALI Linux) 
• Prepare a toolbox 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experiences in IT Security & Penetration testing 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Strong Linux skills 
• Knowledge in automotive security a plus

PREFERRED FIELD OF STUDY:

• Informatics/Computer Science 
• IT / Information Security

The successful completion of the thesis is remunerated with a one-time fee of EUR €1.700,00 before tax.
