Jobbeschreibung

Beschreibung

To strengthen our excellent research team, which is focused on the development and research of innovative approaches for the treatment of childhood cancer, we are looking for a PhD student (m/f/d) working on tumor immunoediting to work on tumor immunoediting. In this responsible role, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary competence center for pediatric oncology and to have a direct influence on the development of new cancer therapies.

Our group (https://http://www.ccri.at/eva-koenig-group/) studies the role of natural killer cells in tumor immunoediting and aims to identify the molecular mechanisms of tumor immune evasion in order to find novel therapeutic targets against leukemia with sustained success. We use DNA barcoding technologies, multiomics approaches (single-cell and bulk RNA-seq, ATAC-seq), genome editing (CRISPR/Cas9 gene knockout in cell lines, siRNA knock-down in primary immune cells), mouse models and a diverse array of in vitro functional studies (including multi-color flow cytometry). The project is funded by a FWF stand-alone grant and aims to find novel therapeutic targets to increase the immunogenicity of tumor cells and/or to improve NK cell functionality.
