Global Technology Manager Joining (f/m/d) - Fulltime in Thüringen in Vorarlberg/Bodenseeregion

In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible to manage joining technologies within Hilti. With a global view, you are in the driver seat to foster welding, brazing and gluing technologies as well as to integrate new joining technologies in given infrastructures. Working in diverse teams, the connection between the plant landscape and the development departments is just one important aspect in your role.

Joining processes become a key technology in terms of differentiation by enabling function-optimized and hybrid parts. Following this trend, many technologically complex applications in the Hilti portfolio exist. To be prepared for development trends and technological substitutes, your central task is to manage existing and upcoming joining technologies in both, tool (e.g. rotary hammers, saws) and insert (e.g. drill bits, chisels, cutting discs) applications.

In this role you will evaluate existing technologies and classify these into a holistic approach to identify synergies for the technologies and their application in Hilti products. As a central position, you will define crucial future (joining) technologies, describe their use cases and foster a reliable network to generate relevant knowledge within Hilti. In close collaboration with the business units, you will consult and support the product development project teams. The technological feasibility and economical questions - such as make or buy decisions - must therefore be weighed in balance. Together with the project teams, you will represent the topics in various steering committees.

• You hold a master’s degree in engineering or in a similar field. A PhD in this area is beneficial.
• You have a broad understanding of welding, gluing and brazing with dedicated work experience.
• You have experience regarding creativity methods to generate new approaches with respect to quality, productivity and product differentiation.
• You have outstanding communication skills, social competencies and the ability to manage complexity.
• You are open minded and would call yourself a Tech Savvy.
• You have a reliable network for joining technologies in industry and/ or academia.
• You have excellent written and spoken English skills.
