for 1 PhD Student on “Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia”We offer 1 position of 30 hours/week for a PhD Student in the field of “Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia” (ITP). ITP is a rare, acquired autoimmune disease with heterogeneous forms and courses of disease. Up to now only very few predictive clinical risk parameters have been found to enable estimations on its progress.
Since 2015 the coagulation centre of the Medical University of Vienna in cooperation with the Hanusch Hospital has established a biobank for patients with primary ITP, in which clinical data are collected and samples stored in order to enable further investigations and insights.
We offer one full (30 hours/week) PhD student position in the Thrombosis and Haemostasis Research Group for three years, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Priv. Doz. Dr. Johanna Gebhart and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ingrid Pabinger ().
On account of the clinical focus of this PhD position, involving patient contact, an (almost) completed medicine degree programme is prerequisite for this job . Applicants should furthermore be interested in hematology and coagulation and have a passion for science and research; knowledge on statistical evaluations is desirable. We also expect fluent German and English .
Our scientific group cooperates with many national and international partners. The PhD study is conducted within the framework of the PhD program of the Medical University of Vienna. The monthly gross salary is based on the collective labour agreement of the Medical University of Vienna and amounts to EUR /30 weekly hours.
